This year in zoology we have learned many things about many different kinds of animals. We also have dissected many animal and learned about how their bodies function and the different part to them. The first dissection that we did was the lamprey, the lamprey looks like a snake's body. But unlike a snake it a circular really sharp teeth that is used like a sucker to suck the blood of fish which is why it is called the vampire of the sea also for it can survive under water it has gill slits. Next was the perch unlike the lamprey the perch has fins to move around including the Dorsal fin, Caudal fin, Pectoral fin, Pelvic fin and the Anal fin and in the internal they have a swim bladder which is used to keep buoyancy. The next dissection was the dogfish shark, the shark like the perch have many same features but was not similar is that it doesn't have a swim bladder and on male sharks they have claspers. After the shark dissection we dissected the mudpuppy which is a amphibian. The internal anatomy includes Lungs, Small Intestine, Large intestine, Mesonephric duct, Gallbladder, Ileum, Liver, Stomach, Spleen and testes and the external they have External Nares, Teeth, External Gills ,Gulnar fold, Tail, Pectoral limbs, Pelvic limbs and Cloacal opening. The last dissection we did was the pigeon the pigeon has feathers, wings, a beak and feet and they also have hard shelled eggs. All together in this class I feel I have learned a lot and I loved learning it.
